A curious horse has his head up. His eyes are alert. He’s taking it in. He’s not reacting in self-preservation or flight/fear mode. He’s not running or panicking. A horse will not learn if they are afraid and have gone into their reptilian brain. It’s our job as a trainer to create situations of curiosity to build confidence. If you go beyond that curiosity, you’ve lost before you’ve begun. Jody L. Kiefer
